Exclusive interview with Guo Lie: After making popular hits such as Face Meng, FaceU, and Cut Movies, he explains for the first time how to make products in the AI era

In 2018, the FaceMeng team was acquired by Byte for approximately US$300 million. Since then, Guo Lie has been responsible for Byte's imaging business and participated in the incubation of a series of products such as Cutting, CapCut, Xingtu, and Qingyan. In 2022, he established his own game company "Ship Island Games". But two years later, Guo Lie, who ended his game entrepreneurship, disappeared from public view. Until October 2025, a video creation agent called Flova.ai will be launched globally.
