OpenAI CEO Sam Altman talked about the tight global memory supply in the Cheeky Pint Podcast broadcast on October 29, and believed that putting a large amount of DRAM on under-utilized personal computers may not be an effective way to allocate resources. He advocates allowing AI computing to be more concentrated in cloud data centers to improve the utilization of limited memory.
