OpenAI Quietly Bought Presentation Startup NextSlide and Folded It Into ChatGPT

OpenAI quietly acquired presentation startup NextSlide earlier this year and only disclosed the deal in August, folding founder Ahmed Beshry's team directly into ChatGPT development. The move puts OpenAI in direct competition with Gamma, which hit a $2.1 billion valuation and $100 million in ARR in 2025, plus Canva and Microsoft's Copilot.
