1 min read
PANews reported on October 18 that according to the Daily Telegraph, Microsoft (MSFT.O) has withdrawn from its data center cooperation project with emerging British cloud service provider Nscale in Loughton, Essex, England. This move comes at a critical period when Nscale is preparing for its IPO, adding another variable to the start-up's listing plan. According to the report, Microsoft did not give a specific reason for terminating the cooperation, but the project has been facing a series of delays. The local government has told Nscale that it does not expect to provide power to the facility until the 2030s. In addition, Nscale’s flagship project in Norway is about six months behind schedule, and only 6.4 MW of the planned 30 MW data center is currently in operation. According to Nscale's IPO filing, the company relies on Microsoft and Anthropic for about 85% of its contracts.
