Netflix revealed in its second-quarter financial report that about 300 works on its platform use generative AI, most of which are used in post-production. The streaming service said in a financial report released on Thursday that it is "increasingly leveraging these tools to deliver higher quality content faster and at lower cost." The financial report also listed some of the works that use AI, including "The American Experiment," "Glory" and "Brasil 70: A Saga do Tri", which use AI technology to "create highly complex scenes" such as "augmented crowds, historical battle sequences and world-building building shots." AI Application Examples Co-CEO Ted Sarandos pointed out in a conference call with investors that the "The American Experiment" documentary series contains 17 minutes of "AI-enhanced footage" that can be produced twice as fast as before and at half the cost. He added that in many cases, the production team would have given up on these critical shots due to budget constraints. Sarandos also said last year that AI was used in a scene in the science fiction drama "The Eternaut" to save time and costs.
