During Meta’s second quarter earnings call in 2026, CEO Mark Zuckerberg personally outlined the company’s future blueprint for personal AI agents. He revealed that Meta is preparing to enter the personal AI agent market on a large scale, allowing these agents to perform various tasks on behalf of users, from coding to daily life management, with the goal of making it easy for non-technical users to get started. Personal AI agent vision Zuckerberg said at the conference that in the short term, users will have AI agents that can work for them 24 hours a day to help achieve goals and improve life, health, relationships and financial status. He pointed out that AI agents in the coding field have already achieved initial results, but engineers themselves have more technical backgrounds and are willing to spend time adjusting agent operations. To build a great personal AI agent, it must be a high-quality consumer product that works right out of the box, making it easy for billions of users to adopt it. Zuckerberg is trying to differentiate his vision from companies like Anthropic, OpenAI, which focus on coding and enterprise work agents. Google has also entered the personal AI agent market through the Gemini Spark tool, but Zuckerberg believes that Meta’s strategy focuses more on mass consumer experience. Commercial Agents and User Scale However, Meta may face challenges in the field of personal AI agents. Its AI capabilities still lag behind mainstream labs, and it doesn't have access to the email or file ecosystems like Google or Microsoft. Meta also needs to deal with privacy concerns brought about by smart glasses, as well as users' trust in the company itself. Zuckerberg emphasized that he would share more details about personal AI agents "soon" and said that this will be the basis for product and revenue growth in the coming months and years. In addition, Meta’s business agents on WhatsApp and Messenger are used by more than 1 million businesses every week.
