Grok Bot launches resident AI agent for macOS and iOS and begins testing

Elon Musk's SpaceXAI today announced the launch of Grok Bot, a team of "resident intelligent agents" capable of completing tasks using tools, websites and apps. Grok Bot operates in the cloud, so work continues even when users close their laptops. The feature is tightly integrated with AI coding company Cursor, which SpaceX is now acquiring for $60 billion. Command agents with conversations Grok subscribers can send messages to agents in natural language through the mobile or desktop app. SpaceXAI said that other tools may require establishing workflows and routines first, but Grok Bot can get the job done with just a conversation. Agents can even log into websites (including those that don't offer an API), although SpaceXAI hasn't yet explained exactly how the authentication will work. Multi-agent parallelism and group coordination Users can use multiple agents at the same time, one of which is responsible for managing other agents, and assign dedicated agents to different tasks. Agents can join group chats, coordinate work on their own, assign tasks, identify responsible persons, and only seek user intervention when judgment is needed. Teach an agent to automate processes Users can teach a Grok Bot to perform a specific workflow. The agent observes the user completing a task, stores the steps, and can then independently follow the same steps. SpaceXAI points out that these agents will learn over time and will eventually be able to proactively start working before the user even opens their mouth. Practical Applications and Subscription Eligibility The SpaceXAI website shows multiple Grok Bot application examples, including sales agents updating call records to CRM, operations agents processing newly hired employees and invoices in Gmail, and engineering agents reproducing product interface errors, submitting work orders, and forwarding repair tasks to debugging agents.
