Have you ever seen this scenario: Ask AI to draw a system architecture diagram, and it will output a bunch of default blue rounded rectangles with crooked lines and crowded nodes. If you put it in your blog or plan, you can tell at a glance that it was generated by AI, which is uglier than the PPT ten years ago. Author Cathryn Lavery is the founder of BestSelf.co and a designer by training. Every time she needs a picture when writing a blog, she either struggles with Figma for half an hour, or gives up on the picture altogether. Later, she discovered that the problem was not that AI could not draw pictures, but that AI lacked a set of editorial-level visual specifications. Diagram-design was forced out of this pain point. This warehouse is not an online whiteboard, nor is it drag and drop
