Anthropic Launches Claude Duet Resident AI Agent Challenge ChatGPT Dots and Meta Muse

2 min read
Anthropic announces Claude Duet, an AI assistant that proactively manages tasks across connected apps, tracks email and schedules, and continues working after the apps are closed. It is gradually rolling out to Pro and Max subscribers in the U.S. as a study preview and is available through a waitlist. U.S. Pro and Max priority trial Claude Duet is currently available in the U.S. to Pro and Max subscribers. Invitations will be sent out in phases and will gradually open through a waiting list. There is no charge for this feature, but it will count towards the usage cap of existing plans, including work performed in the background; Anthropic pointed out that this may allow users to reach the cap faster than just using the chat function. Claude Duet is not currently available for Team and Enterprise plans, and Anthropic plans to expand to these subscription plans in the future. Claude Duet is powered by Claude Opus 5.5 and is available to invited users through standalone apps for iOS and Android, as well as the Claude.ai web version. The cloud computer keeps running tasks. Claude Duet allows users to type text or record voice like sending a message to a person, work in connected applications, and notify the other party when there is something that needs the user's attention. It is designed to ask users before sending messages, making payments, signing documents, or deleting anything. It shares memories, skills, and connectors with regular Claude, and can also search for past conversations, so users don’t have to repeat explanations; the main conversation string is concentrated in the same place, and Claude Duet will pick up where it left off. Users can also open independent channels for different topics that share the same memory. Claude Duet runs on its own cloud computer, so users can continue working after closing the application. According to its support page, Claude Duet also has a dedicated Tasks tab to allow users to track ongoing work.
