Kuai Technology reported on August 16 that Xinqing Technology recently announced that its self-developed car-grade 7nm AI accelerator chip "Tiangong 100" has been fully mass-produced and will be simultaneously supplied in batches to ecological partners such as OEMs and first-tier suppliers. This chip does not need to replace the main control chip or modify the original software and hardware. It can provide independent large-model computing power for cars in the form of plug-in hardware. It is considered an important breakthrough in the expansion of domestic end-side AI computing power. “Tiangong 100” has opened up a differentiated path. Previously, when car companies wanted to deploy large models in their cars, the mainstream approach was to replace the main control chip of the entire vehicle. Not only was the cost high and the cycle long, but already sold models were almost impossible to upgrade. As an independent plug-in AI accelerator, this chip can be connected to the vehicle system like a plug-in card through the PCIe interface. There is no need to change the electronic and electrical architecture of the entire vehicle. Both new cars and existing models can be upgraded "without any sense". In terms of performance, "Tiangong 100" has a computing power of 96 TOPS and an independent memory bandwidth of 102GB per second. AI inference does not occupy the computing power of basic functions such as central control and instruments. It can smoothly run large models with 3B to 7B parameters, and supports multi-modal voice interaction and real-time response of AI assistants. The cost is controlled at the level of 1,000 yuan, which is at least half compared to the traditional high computing power dual-control solution. In terms of security, the chip has passed AEC-Q100 Grade3 and ISO 26262 ASIL-B dual vehicle regulatory certifications, and has a built-in hardware security encryption module to achieve hardware-level isolation protection for user voice, image and other private data. Xinqing Technology was established in Wuhan Economic Development Zone in 2018. In just a few years, it has launched a number of products including the country's first 7-nanometer car-grade smart cockpit chip "Longying No. 1", smart driving chip "Xingchen No. 1" and 5-nanometer AI cabin-driving fusion chip "Longying No. 2". At present, Xinqing ranks among the top three in the domestic smart cockpit chip market share, and its domestic 7-nanometer cockpit chip "Dragon Eagle One" has achieved million-level mass production and installation. Recently, the company announced that it has completed over US$200 million in financing in the first half of the year. With continued capital support, its client-side AI layout is accelerating.
