According to the Washington Post, the woman accused her stepfather of using Grok to alter a childhood photo taken when she was 11 years old to create more than 7,000 explicit images of her. The woman also revealed that her stepfather was found dead by suicide two days after the images were discovered during a law enforcement raid. Speaking about the matter, the woman said that people's unrestricted access to these AI tools is spreading rapidly, which is transforming people's daily lives into a breeding ground for child sexual abuse. Several teenagers previously filed a lawsuit accusing xAI, which reports say is now part of SpaceX, of failing to take basic precautions to prevent Grok from being used to generate explicit images of real people, including minors.
