Zhixi Author | ZeR0 Editor | Mo Ying Zhixi reported on July 16 that NVIDIA announced today that Japan's leading enterprises, startups and research institutions are using NVIDIA Nemotron open models, data and libraries to build industry-specific AI models and applications, thereby accelerating the development of AI suitable for Japanese languages, industries and workforce. Open models are the foundation of the nation’s AI ecosystem, enabling organizations to customize, deploy and manage the AI they control. Trends such as Japan’s aging population and workforce transformation are driving demand for customized AI for local industries to help augment the workforce, maintain productivity and accelerate innovation. Nemotron models are released as open weights, datasets, and recipes, allowing organizations to transparently control the models to adapt to domain-specific workflows and deploy them to applications and data wherever they live. Developers can use NVIDIA NeMo to customize, evaluate and optimize models to meet their use cases and deploy them in environments that comply with regulatory, sovereignty and data localization requirements. In addition, building a high-precision visual AI agent that can be used in a production environment may require developers to spend thousands of hours completing data collection, model training, verification, and deployment. NVIDIA Metropolis provides developers with libraries that can be used to build NVIDIA Cosmos visual AI agents, integrating more than 80 new skills to help developers improve this process by at least 6 times using programmed agents. "Every country and every company should own and control its own intelligent infrastructure. The open model makes this possible." NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang said, "The open model gives countries, enterprises and researchers the freedom to inspect, improve, adjust, protect and deploy AI according to their own needs." 1.
