NVIDIA reaches a US$1 billion investment agreement with South Korean Internet giant Naver to expand its 200 MW AI computing power factory

IT House reported on July 27 that Nvidia announced last week (July 24) that it had reached a US$1 billion (IT House note: the current exchange rate is approximately 6.778 billion yuan) investment agreement with South Korean Internet giant Naver, and plans to expand the previously deployed NVIDIA DSX AI factory to 200 megawatts. IT House learned from the official press release that Nvidia will also cooperate with Brookfield Asset Management (Brookfield) this time and plans to provide financial support of up to US$9 billion (current exchange rate is approximately 61 billion yuan). The expanded factory will provide AI computing power to Korean and American AI innovation companies to develop next-generation AI large models, agents and AI services. The NVIDIA DSX AI factory will use the latest NVIDIA platforms such as Vera Rubin and Blackwell, and will promote the development of AI in South Korea upon completion. It is reported that Brookfield Asset Management has been a long-term investor in South Korea since it entered the Korean market in 2014. It currently manages US$12 billion (approximately 81.333 billion yuan at the current exchange rate) of Korean assets, covering infrastructure, real estate and energy. In addition, Naver also plans to further expand the scale of Nvidia's infrastructure construction, which will eventually reach 1 gigawatt. The company also plans to launch an AI Agent platform in the second half of this year, based on Nvidia’s Agent Toolkit.
