With a huge investment of US$15 billion, Anthropic plans to build a new AI data center in Texas, and Google will provide comprehensive chain-guaranteed support. Infrastructure investment in the field of artificial intelligence is ushering in a new round of explosion. Data center developer Nexus Data Centers is currently in advanced talks surrounding a financing package of up to $15 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. The project aims to provide financial support for artificial intelligence company Anthropic’s large-scale AI data center in Texas, USA, in which technology giant Google plays a crucial guarantee and chip supply role. According to the planning details, if Anthropic is unable to meet its lease and power payment obligations in the future, Google will provide it with debt guarantees totaling billions of dollars. The scope of this guarantee fully covers multiple data center lease agreements signed by Anthropic, as well as power purchase contracts linked to supporting on-site power plants. By providing strong credit endorsement, Google not only deeply binds core partners, but also expects to obtain approximately 20% equity return in the data center and related power projects. In addition to financial protection, the hardware core of the data center will also be fully aligned with Google's technology ecosystem. Anthropic plans to deploy tensor processing unit (TPU) chips jointly designed by Google and Broadcom on a large scale locally. Industry insiders pointed out that the purchase of these customized chips will be implemented through an independent supplier financing agreement between Anthropic and Broadcom. As the demand for computing power for large models continues to soar, collaborative innovation and capital bundling between leading cloud vendors and AI unicorns are becoming increasingly tight. via AI News (author: AI Base)
