As Tesla continues to introduce artificial intelligence into its cars, the next development focus will be to deeply integrate the Grok AI chatbot with the vehicle's autonomous driving system, so that AI can not only chat, but also truly influence vehicle driving behavior. IT House noticed that recently, technology journalist and Tesla owner @ChrissGPT shared his experience using FSD (Full Self-Driving) on the X platform. He said: "If I can directly tell the FSD which driveway and which house's driveway to drive into, just like talking to the driver, then the practicality of the FSD in residential areas can be at least doubled." He also gave the example that if he only had to tell the vehicle "that's that house," the FSD could accurately drive to the door and remember this location for future use. The experience would be much better. In response, Ashok Elluswamy, head of Tesla AI, responded with a short sentence: "Working on it." This also means that the function of using natural language to directly control FSD has entered the research and development stage. With Grok connected to Tesla vehicles, vehicles already have stronger AI capabilities. Grok first landed on Tesla cars last summer. Users can talk to AI through natural language, such as: asking open-ended questions; querying knowledge information; obtaining summaries of news events, etc. Tesla has since continued to expand Grok’s capabilities. For example: support adding navigation waypoints through voice; modifying navigation routes while driving. In the 2026 spring update, Tesla added location-based reminders. For example, the user can directly say: "Remind me to take out the gym bag from the trunk when I get home." Today, Grok is further integrated with the FSD autonomous driving system and is also considered to be the development of this AI ecosystem.
