IT House reported on July 11 that according to "The Information" reported yesterday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated in a memo that given that the Token cost of Grok 4.5 is lower than that of competitors, employees should switch to Grok whenever possible. According to reports, Tesla set a limit of $200 per week for employees to use AI earlier this week (IT House Note: The current exchange rate is approximately 1,357 yuan). This clause applies to Anthropic, OpenAI and Google products, but xAI's Grok is not restricted. Tesla has been testing the new version of Grok internally for the past few months, and xAI product lead Andrew Milich has also continued to work with Tesla employees to solve problems that arise during use. However, according to four people familiar with the situation, Tesla engineers generally prefer to use Anthropic and Claude in daily development work. At the same time, xAI released its latest model Grok 4.5 on Wednesday, positioning it as an "Opus-level" model. However, in the comprehensive multi-field rankings, Grok 4.5 only ranked ninth with a comprehensive score of 76.3 points, lagging behind OpenAI, Anthropic and Google's models. The programming ability score is only 68.6 points, which is the lowest among all models on the list. Musk himself did not deny the gap, but said: "To be fair, Fable is indeed better than Grok 4.5, but most tasks do not require Fable's capabilities."
