SAIC Volkswagen ID.ERA 5S was officially launched at the Chengdu Auto Show, priced from 89,900 to 119,900 yuan. It is the world's first Volkswagen brand sedan equipped with urban NOA functions. The car is equipped with the "Cloud Intelligent Travel" intelligent assisted driving system, jointly developed by SAIC Volkswagen and CoreCheng. It is deeply customized based on the Horizon Journey chip and HSD algorithm. It supports urban NOA and high-speed NOA full-scenario pilot assistance, and is equipped with 26 active safety functions. CoreCheng is a joint venture established by Volkswagen Group and Horizon in 2022. Volkswagen holds 60% of the shares and Horizon holds 40%. It has a registered capital of 900 million euros and is headquartered in Beijing. In July 2026, the two parties will further deepen their cooperation. CoreCheng will use the white box licensing model and rely on the large model capabilities of the Horizon AI base to accelerate the self-development of Volkswagen Group China's unified AI driving solution, covering L3 and L4 autonomous driving.
