Huge amounts of capital are setting off another wave of AI: River AI, founded by former OpenAI tycoon, raised US$1.1 billion in the first round. Recently, the field of artificial intelligence has once again received a sky-high financing. River AI, a two-month-old start-up founded by former OpenAI researcher, DeepMind veteran and xAI co-founder Igor Babuschkin, officially announced that it has received US$1.1 billion in seed and Series A financing. This round of financing was co-led by General Catalyst and AMP PBC, and giants such as NVIDIA, AMD Ventures, Y Combinator and Temasek also participated. River AI officially surfaced in June this year, and its core vision is to completely reshape the underlying logic of artificial intelligence. Different from the current industry that generally uses AI as a labor tool to replace human workers, the team hopes to reconstruct the entire stack from training methods, underlying models, product layers to hardware, so that AI agents can be transformed into personalized "guardian angels" that are truly personal and understand users. In order to break the limitation of traditional large models that "users cannot own and can only passively prompt", River AI has currently launched an open model API service. Developers can use reinforcement learning and low-rank adaptation (LoRA) fine-tuning techniques to customize open source models into their own proprietary models and deploy them as easily as calling other endpoints. In the enterprise market, River AI also targets pain points. The neocloud service it launched is designed to help enterprises easily control the destiny of AI models. It claims that any enterprise can complete complex reinforcement learning training in 15 to 20 minutes without the need for a professional infrastructure team, while the cost can be two to four times lower than closed source alternatives. With the rise of personal localization agents and the in-depth deployment of AI capabilities by major hardware manufacturers, the market demand for autonomous and controllable AI is increasing day by day. With this huge amount of funding, River AI is trying to open up a new path in the future personalized AI track. via AI News (author: AI Base)
