IT House reported on August 19 that during yesterday’s financial report conference call, Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing revealed that Xiaomi robot will be unveiled to the public for the first time at the 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC). According to the "Daily Economic News" report, the robot is about 1.70 meters tall, weighs 66 kilograms, and has 66 degrees of freedom throughout its body, half of which are concentrated in its hands. The product is still in the prototype stage and will be exhibited in Europe after its first domestic exhibition. Based on the currently public information, Xiaomi has chosen a full-size solution of about 1.7 meters for the robot body. Lu Weibing emphasized that Xiaomi will not make robots independently, but will collaborate with the "full ecology of people, cars and homes" to achieve linkage in scenarios such as smart factories, smart travel and homes. At the level of technical roadmap, Xiaomi focuses on the pursuit of versatility, covering the two major directions of robot body hardware size and embodied large models. Lu Weibing said that when Xiaomi deploys humanoid robots, it pays more attention to practical implementation capabilities. At this stage, the primary implementation scenario is smart manufacturing production lines. This robot has previously completed a four-month "internship" on the production line at the Xiaomi Automobile Factory, focusing on completing industrial operations such as loading self-tapping nuts and folding boxes. After continuous iteration, the success rate of nut mounting operations has increased to 98%, which is only a small gap from the manual level. In addition, the robot has expanded into new scenarios such as center console side cover parts and other types of assembly and logistics operations, achieving a leap from "single process operation" to "multi-machine collaboration". In terms of technical bases, Xiaomi has developed its own Xiaomi-Robotics series of embodied base models to connect visual recognition, language understanding and action execution links. In August 2022, Xiaomi released the full-size humanoid bionic robot CyberOne (IT House Note: Internal stage name "Tieda"), which is 1.77 meters tall, weighs 52 kilograms, and has 21 joint degrees of freedom. The product debuted nearly two months before the Tesla Optimus prototype. Since then, Xiaomi has released little news in the field of robotics.
