Former Meta AI director launches Ndoc: benchmarking Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Former Meta AI director Rohit Patel recently officially launched the artificial intelligence productivity startup Ndoc and released an integrated office platform of the same name designed to challenge Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. The platform breaks away from the existing model of simply embedding chatbots in traditional spreadsheets and builds a workspace from scratch that contains three independent tabs: "Stage", "Narrative" and "Model". Users can upload original data sets through the "Model" tab and generate analysis reports containing visible Python scripts, supplemented by built-in AI chat functions to explain specific scripts and calculation processes, ensuring that corporate decision-makers can verify the financial data generated by AI. In terms of file format, Ndoc supports exporting documents into open source ".ndoc.html" files that can be opened directly in the browser. As a technical leader with 8 years of experience in Meta reinforcement learning and AI evaluation, Patel chose to form a streamlined team to promote the project to adapt to the iteration speed of modern AI tools. Facing competition from major manufacturers such as Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI and Anthropic, Ndoc has built-in connectors that can import data from mainstream office applications, and relies on the open source model to reduce operating costs. The product has currently launched an alpha version for early trial use, and the official commercial version is scheduled to be released in 2027. This innovative exploration is gradually breaking the closed structure of traditional proprietary software and providing a new solution for enterprise-level office collaboration that is both transparent and open. via AI News (author: AI Base)
