Zhidongxi Author | Chen Junda Editor | Li Shuiqing Zhidongzhi reported on July 29 that just now, according to Bloomberg citing people familiar with the matter, Beijing-based large model unicorn Dark Side of the Moon raised more than expected US$3.5 billion (approximately RMB 23.677 billion) in the latest completed financing round, with a post-money valuation of US$35 billion (approximately RMB 236.771 billion). People familiar with the matter also revealed that Dark Side of the Moon originally planned to raise US$1 billion to US$2 billion in this round of financing. Based on this conversion, the actual amount raised in this round exceeded the original planned upper limit by 75% and reached 3.5 times the original planned lower limit. Currently, Dark Side of the Moon has begun to contact potential investors and plans to launch Pre-IPO financing with a pre-investment valuation of US$50 billion (approximately RMB 338.325 billion). Dark Side of the Moon hopes to complete this round of financing within this year and then list it in Hong Kong as soon as possible. Zhidongxi asked The Dark Side of the Moon for comment on the above news, but The Dark Side of the Moon declined to comment for the time being. Dark Side of the Moon has been making frequent moves in the capital market recently. According to the enterprise information query platform Qichacha, on May 7 this year, Dark Side of the Moon completed financing led by Meituan, with a post-money valuation of US$20 billion. On June 30 of this year, Dark Side of the Moon received another E-round financing. Investors include state-owned assets from Shanghai, Shenzhen and other places and investment institutions such as IDG Capital. The financing amount and valuation have not yet been disclosed. If the post-money valuation of US$35 billion is true, Dark Side of the Moon’s valuation will rise from US$4.3 billion in December last year to more than eight times its original value in about seven months, an increase of approximately 714%. In terms of financing scale, Dark Side of the Moon’s current round of financing of US$3.5 billion is second only to the approximately 51 billion yuan financing completed by DeepSeek in June this year, setting the second largest single-round financing record for a large model company in China. Calculated based on the closing price of Hong Kong stocks on July 29, Dark Side of the Moon's valuation has exceeded MiniMax's market value of HK$74.217 billion (approximately RMB 64.121 billion), which is roughly 57.07% of Zhipu's market value of HK$480.989 billion (approximately RMB 414.997 billion).
