Kuai Technology reported on August 15 that the finals and awards ceremony of the 2026 National College Student Computer System Ability Competition Intelligent Computing Innovation Design Competition (Pioneer Cup) concluded at Tongji University. The competition attracted more than 1,900 students from 160 universities across the country, more than 500 participating teams. The biggest highlight of this event is that the country’s first AI4E (engineering intelligence) domestically produced kilo-card industrial intelligent computing cluster has completed its actual debut. This cluster was jointly built by Haiguang Information and Tongji University in June this year. It is the first time that domestic computing power has been used in an engineering-specific form to serve university education, teaching and research. The cluster uses Haiguang DCU as the core computing power base and adopts a super-intelligent fusion architecture that can simultaneously carry high-end computing and AI training and reasoning tasks. The cluster relies on Haiguang's self-developed software stack, fully adapts to mainstream large models and AI development frameworks, and has built-in chip-level security protection technology. In this competition, the cluster provided full-process computing power guarantee for the two major competition topics of Qianwen Large Model Inference Service Optimization and Meteorological Large Model Inference Deployment Optimization. The participating teams completed solution optimization and practical verification in real scenarios such as large model reasoning and scientific intelligence. Haiguang Information stated that it will continue to polish exclusive computing power solutions for engineering education and scientific research scenarios, and promote the upgrade of domestic computing power from usable to easy to use. This competition has opened up a complete channel for the integration of industry and education from domestic chips, computing power bases, national competitions to innovative talent training.
