China Unicom: Intelligent computing scale reaches 45EFLOPS, and computing power-related investment will exceed 17.5 billion yuan this year

According to IT House news on August 5, China Unicom announced today that as of now, China Unicom has more than 1.1 million standard racks, built 7 hundred-megawatt AIDC parks, and has an intelligent computing scale of 45EFLOPS (IT House note: 1EFLOPS means that it can perform 10 billion (10^18) floating-point operations per second). China Unicom stated that it has determined that the full-year capital expenditure in 2026 will be 50 billion yuan, of which computing power-related investment will exceed 17.5 billion yuan, accounting for 35% of the total investment. According to reports, China Unicom has completed the full coverage of resource layout in the eight national computing power hub nodes deployed in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Chengdu-Chongqing, Inner Mongolia, Guizhou, Gansu, and Ningxia around the "Eastern Data and Western Computing" strategy, and has deeply participated in the construction of 10 data center clusters planned by the state. At the computing power platform level, China Unicom has created a full-stack computing power system with "China Unicom Cloud AI + China Unicom Yuanjing" as the core. Achieve cross-domain mixed training of three types of heterogeneous computing cards in four places and thousands of kilometers, and the cross-domain training efficiency of tens of billions and hundreds of billions of large models reaches 90% and 85% respectively.
